There are several things that probably won’t change this year. Things like buying or selling a business, choosing a different executor or beneficiary aren’t typical updates. They do however, happen, so it’s important to remember as soon as they do change, this information should be updated in your estate plan.

It is also possible that you haven’t looked at your estate plan in years. If this is the case, there are several updates you might need to make. It’s important to make changes and additions each year, as not doing so might cause your estate plan to become invalid. When that happens, it might not hold up in a court of law. Working with an attorney to make sure these changes happen is key.
