Creating a Living Trust | Estate Planning in Raleigh

Once the living trust has been signed and notarized, the property and assets will be transferred into the trust. Transferring these assets into it will fund the living trust. Working with the attorney, again will help you better understand how the process of moving assets work.

Once everything is prepared, signed, notarized and transferred, it is important to store the document somewhere that is safe and secure. Also, make sure that you have a copy of it, as well. In many cases, trustee lets the successor trustee know where it is being stored so that they have access to it, should they need it.

Just like a wheel and other estate planning documents, living trust should be updated. Anytime there are marriages, divorces, births or deaths, they should be recorded within the document. Also, real estate deals should be accounted for, as well. Be sure to review the document at least once every two years. If things come up that need to be changed immediately, Contact her lawyer so they can help you get things situated.

Sometimes, living trust seem complicated. However, they can be beneficial in certain situations. Contact our attorney to talk more about whether or not a trust might work better for you.
